Addicted to bass!

At First Friday Live . . . it’s all about the bass

On Friday March 7, guest artist Jordan Tarento will join forces with house band Metro for a big night of jazz. The Melbourne-based musician has studied and performed with some of the greats. As a student of the ANU jazz program in Canberra, Jordan fine-tuned his craft under jazz luminaries Eric Ajaye and John Mackey.

While living in the nation’s capital he also performed with several international jazz identities - Bennie Maupin, Bill Cunliffe and John Reilly. Jordan also joined forces with some of Canberra’s rising young jazz stars, taking the stage with Luke Sweeting, Liam Budge and Joe McEvilly. He relocated to Melbourne in 2013 to continue his studies with at Monash University.

Since making the move, Jordan has had the chance to perform with American composer and director Maria Schneider as well as jazz pianist Gerald Clayton.

The future is bright for this talented bass player and this is your chance to see him live in Griffith.

For a big, bass-y night out . . . see you at 188 Banna Avenue on Friday, March 7, 7.30pm. Don’t forget to book your table and enjoy a night of live music for the low, low cover charge of just $15 per person.

First Friday Live is a not-for-profit, community-organised event run by local volunteers with the aim of nurturing a strong live music scene in our town.
