Local band returns for Friday

Home-grown talent and emerging stars Until Further Notice are set to entertain First Friday Live fans during the hit event next month.
Originally from Griffith, Until Further Notice (UFN) is a Melbourne soul-funk band consisting of Bonnie Heffernan on vocals, Chris Rossetto on guitar, Sean Close on bass, Zac Robertson on guitar and David Ulucay on drums.
The band will be returning to Griffith to perform at Giuseppe’s Bar for First Friday Live on Friday, November 4.
The five-piece band is currently pursing their dream and making it a reality by studying a Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Performance) at the Australian Institute of Music.
The band first joined forces in 2013 under the name the Rhythm Section for a school project and went on to entertain crowds at a a number of pubs, clubs, functions and events.
The Rhythm Section soon became Until Further Notice and they evolved their overall sound into a soul- funk and jazz aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Stevie Wonder, Prince and James Brown.
Whilst also drawing individual influences from each member, this five piece ensemble combine their flavours to create their own spin on classic tunes whenever the opportunity arises.
First Friday Live co-founder Livio Mazzon is excited about seeing the band return to where it all started and said the night will be a great chance to see rising stars perform.
Tickets available from Giuseppe's Bar & Restaurant, Lesleys of Griffith & Beelbangera General Store or online at

After a hugely successful “Budburst” event, First Friday Live is going underground…well, almost. On Friday 7 October, The Olympic Street Basement will be the perfect venue for the sultry and sassy sounds of Genevieve Chadwick.

The superlatives to describe Genevieve and her playing style are many: “an artist who touches the very soul of an audience…an extraordinary performer who exudes raw energy by the bucket load…poignant songs…rich melodies…impassioned husky vocals.” It goes on and on. And that’s a good thing when it comes to this young Aussie singer/songwriter. She can’t be pigeonholed because, quite simply, there is so much to her and her unique style of music.

Genevieve will be accompanied by her band, The Stones Throw, with Mick Malouf on bass, Jeremy Edwards on guitar, and Dave Fester on drums to perform heartfelt renditions of classics and original songs.

First Friday Live co-founder Livio Mazzon reiterated the point about this outstanding talent, "Genevieve is one of those artists who leaves it all out there on stage. She’s one of a kind and for our next FFL concert we’ve got her!”

Genevieve will be ready to strut her stuff at The Olympic Street Basement. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased from Lesley's of Griffith and Beelbangera General Store or at the door. Dinner will be available at $30 per person and must be pre-booked and paid for with tickets. This event is BYO drinks. The show gets underway at 7.30pm.
