You know a live music act is good when the organisers have to rearrange furniture mid-gig so that more people can get up and shake their groove thing! But this is exactly what happened last time Grooveyard Hammond Combo came to town.

Based in Albury, Grooveyard Hammond Combo are fast becoming a popular act due to their quirky style of blues, soul, and R&B. So Giuseppe’s Restaurant & Bar will be the place to be on Friday 4 December when they return by popular demand.

Grooveyard’s amazing sound is created by a collection of instruments played by band members Phillip Stone (electric + acoustic guitars, and ukuleles), Carolyn (‘Caz’) Higgs (electric bass, U bass, percussion + vocals), Graeme Cook (Hammond organ, accordion, trumpet, and trombone) and Kevin McGrath on drums. And all four pack a powerful punch as vocalists.

When asked about audiences’ reaction to their music, front-woman Caz Higgs had this to say, "When the band starts to play there's a synergy. It's as though the stars align and everything comes together in a grooveyard. Hence we use the name, Grooveyard, as a colloquialism for record shop."

She went on to say, “There’s nothing more energising to a band than seeing people move and groove to your tunes. You know when people start to dance that it’s resonating with them. And it doesn’t matter if they don’t know the song because it’s a feeling and an energy coming off the band. Like pebbles on a pond, it ripples out and has an effect.”

First Friday founder, Livio Mazzon echoed this point by saying, “The band fearlessly stretches and massages arrangements on the fly, and they are versatile and able to play as an electric band or an acoustic quartet. All this makes for a night with Grooveyard that should not be missed.” As 2015 comes to a close, what better way to celebrate than at First Friday Live.

Starting at 6.30pm at Giuseppe’s Restaurant & Bar, for the first time, a $35 ticket will get you entry plus a buffet featuring 3 types pasta, 3 types pizza, calamari and salad.

Tickets are to be purchased by 5pm Wednesday 2 December from either Beelbangera General Store or Lesley's of Griffith – but get in quick, as only 70 dinner tickets are available. If patrons are not having the meal, the usual $15 tickets can be bought pre-purchased or at the door.

The regular lucky door prizes and raffles will be back with over $150 of prizes to be won. To learn more about First Friday Live visit http://www.firstfridaylive.com.au and facebook.com/FFLGriffith or call Livio Mazzon on 0428 235 871.                        -END-

Cheryl Tucker & Trouserpants to rock the night away at November First Friday Live

Don’t miss the party in Griffith this November when popular singer and guitarist Cheryl Tucker and local
band Trouserpants unleash their amazing talents at the First Friday Live event at Guiseppe’s
Restaurant & Bar, 188 Banna Ave. The combination of these talented artists is sure to have everyone
grooving on the dance floor and humming or singing along to their songs on Friday November 6 when
the event gets underway at 7.30pm.

The many loyal fans of singer Cheryl Tucker will be thrilled to see her open the evening with her unique
honey vocals and guitar artistry. Cheryl has been performing as a solo vocalist & guitarist since the
early 80s at clubs, pubs, festivals, weddings and private functions. She has developed a broad
repertoire including rock, pop, soul, swing and contemporary country rock music. Cheryl was also a
member of the band Mersey Beats for three years, providing lead vocals and playing keyboard and
guitar. She was also one half of the duo called Litecrust with guitarist Wayne Rountree, and teamed up
with fellow Griffith songstress Loretta Dei Agnoli as Take Note.

Trouserpants was formed in 2014 when well known bands 3Jam and Trunk Monkey joined forces to
play a mix of blues and contemporary music. Trouserpants features Chris Forwood on guitar, Angelo
Peruzzi on drums and vocals, John Peruzzi on keyboards and vocals, and Glen Bartrop on bass guitar
and also as a vocalist. The busy band has played all over the Riverina and is in much demand.
First Friday Live founder Livio Mazzon said showcasing local artists is at the heart of the First Friday
Live initiative and that the pairing of Trouserpants and Cheryl Tucker will no doubt be a huge attraction
for music lovers in Griffith and beyond.

“When we launched First Friday Live a few years ago, our vision was to nurture a strong live music
scene in Griffith and nothing excites us more than locking in local performers like Cheryl and
Trouserpants, who are not only exceptionally talented but so well known and loved in the community.
It’s going to be a memorable evening of music and entertainment when these wonderful musicians get
going,” Livio said.
Tickets for the event are $15 or $10 for groups of 10 people or more. Tickets are available at Guiseppe’s
Restaurant & Bar on the night. The regular lucky door prizes and raffles will also be back so don’t miss
your chance to win a prize. A dinner menu is alsoavailable, with Guiseppe’s Restaurant & Bar kitchen
closing at 9.30pm, so get in early, eat, drink and groove the night away.
