According to respected blues commentators, the consensus is that it won’t be long before Jesse Valach bursts onto the international blues stage.

In the meantime, Friday First Live has been lucky enough to secure Jesse and his band for its next event on Friday 1 April.

As a singer/songwriter, Jesse has a way of weaving together intense guitar playing with soulful vocals. The audience will be taken on a journey from lights down soul ballads to energetic shuffle romps delivered in demanding fashion.

First Friday co-founder Livio said, “The best thing about Jesse’s music is that whether you’re a keen blues fan or a casual listener, you’ll appreciate his sound. From energetic to expressive, he’s got it covered.”

Despite being a regular on Melbourne’s premium live music scene, Jesse Valach has managed to notch up successful overseas tours in New Zealand and Fiji, proving that he is indeed a musician on the rise.

Jesse Valach and his band will be appearing at Giuseppe’s Restaurant & Bar at 7.30pm on Friday 1 April.

So you don’t miss out, you can get your tickets at Lesley's of Griffith and Beelbangera General Store until Friday. Or rock up on the night where tickets are available for $15 at the door. The regular lucky door prizes and raffles will be back with prizes to be won. Giuseppe’s menu is available until 9.30pm.

The cafes of Paris may be a long way from Griffith, but First Friday Live’s next performers will have its audience believing they’ve been transported to another time and place.

Specialising in gypsy jazz, The Date Brothers Trio are an experienced, world-class act with brothers Ian and Nigel Date on guitar, and Howard Cairns on double bass.

All three have decades of music playing experience, and with a recent resurgence in gypsy jazz, there’ll be plenty more gigs ahead.

In 2015, Ian and Nigel released an album alongside Ian Cooper and Tommy Emmanuel. Just Passing Through featured nine tracks of gypsy jazz, folk, and blues styles that highlighted the musicianship of each player.

The Date Brothers will be appearing at Bagtown Bar and Grill at 7.30pm on Friday 4 March where the intimate restaurant setting will suit the style of this trio to a tee. Guests can choose between a special menu and a range of canapés on the night.

First Friday co-founder Livio said, “When it comes to acoustic and gypsy jazz, these guys are in a league of their own. Their musicality, passion and style are why people love to see them play.”

Livio added, “It was refreshing to see so many new faces at our last event and the First Friday Live crew are gearing up for another unique and entertaining act. Anyone with an appreciation of acoustic will be enthralled by the original arrangements and mesmerising melodies.”
